Color Changing Garnet is quite sheer on its own and is really best for layering. For these pictures I used one coat of Ninja Polish Color Changing Garnet over two coats of OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest. All pictures were taken outside on a sunny afternoon, however only the last picture (angled to show the green) was taken in direct sunlight.
Color Changing Garnet is a sheer polish made up of shifting multichrome shimmer AND shifting glitter. The color shift in this is so strong and extremely gorgeous. The shimmer starts at a rich burgundy wine color (garnet red) and moves through coppery orange, gold and finally to a grassy green, with a lovely cool toned green at extreme angles. The glitter starts at red, with occasional flashes of purple and changes to gold as you get to the green angle of the shimmer.
This polish is absolutely fantastic, application was great, the brush was perfect (very similar to the OPI pro wide brush). It even dried quite quickly. Do use a good glossy top coat to really bring out the shine! I'll also be picking up Ninja Polish Alexandrite from the collection once it's available again.
Cheat sheet:
- Orly Nail Defense - 1 coat
- OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest - 2 coats
- Ninja Polish Color Changing Garnet - 1 coat
- Orly Polishield - 1 coat
Fun facts: Color Change Garnet the gemstone
Color Change Garnet is a gemstone that appears different colors in different lights. The pictures above are the same stone! This particular stone appears greenish in cool toned light (like daylight) and wine red in warm toned light (like your average light bulb or candle light).

Love that! The colors are sooo gorgeous.
