Little cloud dudes with buckets who like rainbows

Hi! Everyone calm down! I'm alive! OK, so you probably haven't been in a mad panic over my absence, but I'm back anyway. I've been all kinds of busy lately. We're planning a house plus I'm trying to get as much Christmas shopping out of the way now as I can and occasionally attempting to have a social life.

This lil bit of nail art is actually from a much larger picture (with a lot more going on) - the idea is part of a painting that I'll finish one day. I've titled this "Little cloud dudes with buckets who like rainbows". I think that about sums it up. They just want to be colourful. Aww..

This was really fun to do. I had to spread it out over 3 days though to fit it in between other things. On the first day I painted the blue base, two coats of China Glaze Bahamian Escape and topped it with Seche. I love this blue so much. Maybe even more so because it matches my big, fuzzy boy's eyes (as seen in this blog's banner!)

On day 2 I did the clouds. I used dotting tools and China Glaze Recycle, China Glaze White On White, Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy and OPI My Pointe Exactly (mixtures and layers). I added a bit of OPI Pirouette My Whistle on top for some sparkle.

The rainbow and little bucket carrying cloud dudes are painted using fluid acrylic paints and a tiny brush. They were built up in layers of colour (the rainbow was blocked out in white first). Finally I outlined them in black fluid acrylic paint and gave them their eyes, arms and legs.

I think they're so cute and I smile whenever I look at them. I hope they put a smile on your face too! But if for some reason you need more cuteness, here's a picture of my kitty Delilah smelling a flower while I was outside taking pictures of my nails.
