These are my nails for the documentary and man, they were a pain to do. Fairy dragons are some of my favourite things to paint when I do actual paintings, but I have never ever tried to paint them so unbelievably tiny. These nails took many hours to do and my poor neck and back were screaming once I'd finished. Either way, I think they're quite lovely!
Aren't they cute? This is not exactly like my original vision, but I'm pretty happy with the results anyway!
The purple background is a sponged on radial gradient using (from darkest to lights), China Glaze Grape Pop, Chi Chi Capital H.I.M and Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy. I really like how it looks and I definitely want to try it on my own nails!
The little dragons and vines were painted using acrylic paints and a very tiny brush. Many many layers. Many. Layers. This little guy is just so adorable. I want one!
Once I'd finished painting I stuck some little rhinestones on to be my glistening red fruits and then added a magical fall of red glitter beneath each one. I also dabbed some Nubar Dewdrop around the dragon's wins to add some sparkle there. I sealed the whole thing with two coats of Seche Vite and voila!
I hope you like these as much as I do. I'm rather taken with them.
